MEPs participating a debate on the besieged Syrian city Kobanê condemned the violence by IS and said more should be done to tackle the terrorist group and help its victims.
Attacks by ISIS gangs aiming to occupy the Kobanê town of West Kurdistan, Rojava, are continuing on the 37th day.
PYD Co-President has reiterated the four main demands in order for the resistance in Kobanê to continue, calling on the UN to take an initiative in order for a corridor to be opened between the cantons of Cizireh, Afrin and Kobanê.
HPG Sinjar Command stated that ISIS gangs have intensified their attacks on the Sinjar region over the last three days, and that HGP guerrillas and YBŞ fighters continued to step up the determined resistance against the gangs.
Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Öcalan said the process had reached a new stage as of 15 October, and what was needed was trust in peace and democracy and a more determined resolve to take courageous political steps.
Saturday Mothers: the same tenacity for 500 weeks
The struggle of the families of the disappeared and the defenders of human rights for the disappeared has continued in Turkey since 1995. The Saturday Mothers, who gather each Saturday at Galatasaray Square in Beyoğlu, Istanbul, will come together this weekend for the 500th time.
